Church
for the Nations is a non-denominational church that gathered together for the first time in January, 2006. We are a group
of people from all walks of life coming together to find meaning,
purpose, and joy in following Jesus and growing in knowledge
of God's Word. We welcome followers and seekers alike - all who are searching
for real meaning in their lives.
We are committed to serving God, each other,
and making a difference within the community that we live, here
in Los Angeles, and within our global community. We encourage
everyone’s participation
in the life of our church, so that all might serve and be connected.
We want to live “the church” through
our daily lives and relationships. In doing so, we find a richer,
more abundant life together.
So, find out how you can get connected through our many Life Groups or with any one of a number of our ministries
here at CFTN.
Our Mission
Church for the Nations …
building committed followers of Jesus Christ
to advance the Kingdom of God
to the ends of the earth.
------
What We Believe
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to Judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.

…in spirit and in truth (John
4:23-24)
…for teaching, rebuking, correcting
and training in righteousness so that
the child of God may be
thoroughly equipped…(II Timothy 3:16-17)
…you will be my witnesses…to
the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8)

Our Core Values
-
Worship
God asks for our worship, authentically directed toward Him
as an audience of One. We encourage a wide variety of joyful
expressions and styles of worship that are culturally relevant.
(John 4:23-24, Acts 2:42-47)
- Word
God makes himself known to us through the Bible, which is central
and authoritative for our everyday lives. We purpose to grow
in knowledge of the Word, obedience to the Word and life under
the Word.
(II Timothy 3:16-17, Acts 2:42)
- Witness
God calls us to reach out to a world
that is in need of Him. Beginning by witnessing within our
own spheres of influence, we endeavor to adopt God’s
global perspective to reach the whole world with the good
news of Jesus Christ. We commit to generous sharing of our
resources, including our money, time, expertise and knowledge,
with local and global partners.
(Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:47)
- Community
God’s love is made manifest in our relationships. We are
committed to mutual caring and accountability through authentic
friendships. We value welcoming hospitality, sacrificial love,
generational and ethnic diversity, and volunteer service, obeying
God’s call to sharing our spiritual gifts to build
up the body.
(I John 4, Hebrews 10:24-25)

Our Pastors
|
Alan Meenan, Ph.D.
Lead Pastor

|
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and studied
at Yale, Asbury and The University of Edinburgh, the consistent focus
in ministry for Alan Meenan has been to facilitate an effective understanding
of the Word of God. He has been a pastor for over 30 years and his
desire is to inspire people to a life of study, devotion and witness.
His motivation comes from the book of Psalms, "Declaring His
glory among the nations” (Psalms 96.3).
Dr. Meenan has preached throughout North
America, Europe, Africa, India and has led Bible oriented tours to
Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He believes the Western church
is strategically positioned for incredible outreach, both to support
the non-Western church in teaching and training and to help evangelize
those in spiritual need anywhere in God's kingdom. He prays for
worldwide revival and senses God's calling him here locally in
Los Angeles and out to make a contribution to the global enterprise
of the gospel.
|
Dr. Meenan is married and has three adult children. In addition to being the founding
pastor of Church
for the Nations, he is also the founding teacher of The
Word Is Out.
